Why "Sees Today" ?

Well, I am glad you asked!

You may have heard the phrase "Seize the Day" (Carpe Diem)—a call to take control, to act boldly, to make the most of our time. But before we can seize the day, we must first see it.

To truly live, we must recognize the present for what it is: the only moment we are given. The past is behind us, beyond our reach. The future is uncertain, outside of our control. Right now is where life happens. Right now is where choices are made. Right now is where God's grace meets us.

This is not just philosophy—it’s deeply spiritual. Saint Herman of Alaska put it best:

"Then, for our good and for our happiness, let us all make a vow: at least from this day, this hour, this very minute, we should strive to love God above all else and do His will!"
— St. Herman of Alaska

This is where Sees Today comes from. It is a play on Seize the Day—but with an emphasis on awareness before action, on perception before pursuit. It is a call to live intentionally, to truly see what is before us, and to recognize that the present moment is where we encounter God, grace, and growth.

Living in the Now – The Heart of Sees Today

Many of us live in the past, haunted by regrets, mistakes, and "what ifs." Others are fixated on the future, anxiously waiting for what comes next, believing that happiness or meaning will come someday. But both of these approaches rob us of what is real—today.

  • The past is unchangeable. We can learn from it, repent, grow, and move forward, but we cannot return to it.

  • The future is unknown. We can plan and prepare, but it is not ours to control.

  • The present is all we have. And that is where God meets us.

This is why Christ says:

"Do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own."
— Matthew 6:34

We are called to trust, to be faithful, to be diligent—not in some distant, perfect version of our lives, but here and now.

The Vow of Today

Sees Today is a call to awaken to the life in front of us.
To stop waiting for perfect conditions.
To stop replaying old failures.
To stop fearing what’s ahead.
And instead, to see today—to truly be here, fully present, fully alive.

This hour.
This very minute.
This is where holiness begins.

What will you do with it?
